Challenge

Through our platform, we allow hospitals and third party app developers to view various analytics concerning the use of VR devices in the hospitals. We have to determine which data we can automatically gather from devices, and which useful information/ analytics we can deduct from this. As an intern you will join the platform team and help us analyse usage data from VR headsets. The goal of this project is to develop a clear overview of VR usage in a hospital. This goal will be achieved by integrating various usage analytics on our existing SyncVR dashboard.  The problem we are solving with this project is that it is currently hard to tell for hospitals how much VR is actually being used. There is a lack of feedback from the people who use VR, to the innovation managers within a hospital who implement VR.

Your challenge in this project is as follows:

Currently basic usage data is already automatically sent from the device to our backend-server. Research the possibility of gathering more usage data from devices than what we are currently doing. With some creative thinking and research, you will figure out which useful analytics you can deduct from the data. Now, with that in mind, you will have to code (either in Typescript or Python) processing logic to extract these analytics from the data. Finally, you can use any tool of your choice to visualize these analytics as a prototype.

• Skills: High level mathematical ability; ability to analyse, model and interpret data; creative thinking; Typescript OR Python scripting for data processing; Your method of choice for prototyping visualizations.
• You are motivated to help improve the quality of life of patients through our VR solutions;
• You are available for a period of at least 4-6 months;
