We aim to develop a so-called “serious game” that can be used to understand foraging decisions in animals (including humans).
In the game a forager moves through a space and the aim is to maximize the number of food items it can find. The game can be played against other players which are competitors but at the same time their foraging success generates useful information. This is realistic problem for shorebirds that we study at NIOZ (www.nioz.nl). The game will be used for educational and research purposes.
