Purpose of this role
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure to support business analytics. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern data tools and frameworks while contributing to impactful projects.
Place in the Organization
The Data Engineer Intern will be positioned in the IT team of uniQure. You will align with Data Platform Owner and IT Management Team to fulfill needs of our colleagues. Further you will have direct contact with the relevant business departments where the need for Data Analytics comes from.
Responsible for:
· Collaborating with the Data Platform Owner to develop and optimize data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing large datasets.
· Assisting in the integration of data from various sources into data warehouse and data lake.
· Supporting the maintenance of data systems and ensuring data quality and integrity.
· Conducting basic troubleshooting of data issues and implementing resolutions.
· Testing and validating the performance and scalability of data solutions.
· Working alongside cross-functional teams, including data analysts to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
· Currently enrolled in University in the Netherlands.
· Basic understanding of data structures, databases, statistics.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and data oriented mindset.
· Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Skills & Experience Preferred
· Pursuing a degree in any of following subjects: Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Bio Statistics or a related field.
· Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as: Python, SQL
· Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
· Understanding of data modeling concepts and practices.
