Backend engineering internship
Every night we collect product data from thousands of European webshops: prices, sizes and what’s in stock. We turn that data into something clean and useful. SKUU connects fashion and shoe shops so that when one shop runs out, another shop’s stock can fill the gap. That only works when the data is right. There’s a lot of it, and it keeps growing as we grow.
The role
As a backend intern you help build and improve the systems behind those nightly runs. You work with the founder and our main backend engineer, and you own real problems with someone guiding you the whole way. What you build runs every night, so you see the result of your work the next morning.
What you’ll work on
For example, together with our main backend engineer you will:
- Build a collector for a new type of webshop and add it to the nightly run
- Find the slowest or most expensive step in that run and make it faster or cheaper
- Set up checks that flag broken prices, sizes or stock before anyone uses the data
What you’ll learn
- How to design simple systems that keep running as they grow
- How to measure speed and cost, and how to make smart tradeoffs
- Practical backend skills in web data, APIs, databases and automation
- How a small team that moves fast ships real products
Who we’re looking for
- You’ve built something on your own and enjoyed getting it to work.
- You know some programming, how the web works and basic databases, or you’re eager to learn.
- You like to understand a problem before you solve it, and you keep things simple.
- You’re curious and independent, and you’re happy to ask questions.
You don’t need to tick every box. If you want to learn backend engineering by building things that matter, we’d love to hear from you.
