As a Service Tribe we design and implement all mortgage products and processes that ING is offering to our Dutch customers.

Role Description:

Improving Monitoring and Alerting within the tribe Mortgages. We have a lot of tools and dashboards, but still no overview when something goes wrong in the chain. The assignment would involve looking at where we can standardize, improve and realize that, using what we have now.

In addition, I would like to further set up and update a diagram of the system chain of our tribe.

 

Description of the Work Setting: (e.g. working in a team or individually)

During the assignment you will work under supervision of one the IT Chapter Leads and experienced engineers. Although you are guided, you are also expected to show entrepreneurship and take the lead yourself when reaching out to others in the organization. You will be the only one working full time on the assignment.

Role Description:

Your assignment will be focused on designing and developing an interactive training module/app that will simulate our Mortgage application system.

With this module/app we want to train new employees in the use of our mortgage application process and system.

 

You will be joining one of the Welcome squads were you will work on your project in an agile way of working.

Is that all new for you, don’t worry! In your team/cluster you collaborate with Customer Journey Experts and Engineers who can help you bringing your assignment to a successful end.

Your main task will be (under supervision of the IT Chapter Lead):

  • Make a plan of approach for your assignment together with your Product Owner
  • Collect the requirements from your stake holders (PO, User organization etc.) for the interactive training module/app, also think about the non-functional requirements and maintainability.
  • Prioritize and determine the first slice hence Minimal Viable Product (MVP)
  • Design and build a first version and be creative with that (e.g. include videos, an interactive chatbot for questions or other fancy stuff)!
  • Give a presentation to your stakeholders and get your feedback.
  • If you still have time left you can make a next version

 

Description of the Work Setting: (e.g. working in a team or individually)

During your time at the Mortgage Welcome cluster you will be part of a squad but you will have your own assignment responsibilities and deliverables within your squad. This means you will have full responsibility for ongoing work, planning of new work, stakeholder management and generating new ideas. Besides your own squad you will talk to Infra Departments and Customer Loyalty Teams.

Role Description:

Your assignment would be to set up a panel of proficient engineers that can challenge the solutions from the teams and can provide guidance when needed. The panel should not slow down the development of new features but should result in more alignment of the architectural changes. The panel needs to be able to support the teams during ideation, design, implementation, execution and decommissioning of features. The panel should also be able to structure available information/knowledge about the IT landscape in terms of functional architecture, application architecture, data architecture and infrastructure. Known best practices can be captured in implementation patterns and be used to guide teams into the target IT landscape design.

Wat is de opdracht?

De opdracht is een BPM casus van een groot winkelbedrijf in Nederland. Maak een BPM (Business Process Management) oplossing die de verplaatsing van personeel van winkels voor haar rekening neemt. Goedkeuring van de managers van de filialen en HR is vereist. Een BPMs en een ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) met bijbehorende DB worden aangereikt. Om de ESB en SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) te begrijpen, wordt er vooraf een 3ECTS vak aangeboden dat op hogescholen via E-learning wordt aangeboden als basis voor de casus. Is er geen kennis van BPMn en BPMs, dan wordt ook dat bijgebracht. Een alternatief is om i.p.v. van SOA, API-led op basis van REST te gebruiken. Bij deze opdracht wordt er niet geprogrammeerd, maar wel met modeleren een oplossing gerealiseerd. Dat noemen we ook wel composen (Citizen Developer).

Eén van onderstaande varianten wordt gebruikt om de implementatie van bovenstaande te realiseren: een BPM platform in combinatie met een ESB (Enterpise Service Bus).

Wat is de opdracht?

De opdracht is een casus waarbij met behulp van Middleware een fictieve webshop wordt gebouwd. Achter de webshop zit een retailer, een verlader die de gekochte waren aflevert en een partij die de financiele transacties afhandelt (fictief).

De webshop casus wordt zowel aangeboden op basis van TIBCO platform of alternatief op basis van MuleSoft. Bij deze opdracht wordt er niet geprogrammeeerd. Er wordt ook geen frontend gebouwd (er is geen UX - user experience). De webshop frontend wordt ingevuld door SOAP/WSDL of REST/RAML en er wordt bijvoorbeeld getest met SOAPUI of PostMan. De webshop casus bestaat uit een 11 tal usecases die volledig uitgewerkt dienen te worden. De webshop casus wordt volledig vanuit de Cloud aangeboden.

The assignment

Helping with GLO infrastructure maintenance and development. This can differ in subject but may contain the following:

·       Windows server upgrades
Our current Windows Servers are running a mix of Windows versions. This needs migration to the latest available version, either 2016 or 2019 (compare pro's and con's).

·       Write a migration plan to find out what is needed for this operation and perform the migration

·       VMWare upgrades / migrations

·       Linux system administration

·       Enhancing update management for Windows and Linux (with Ansible and CI/CD solutions)

·       Enhancing logging / monitoring solutions (Nagios and Splunk)
You're going to make dashboards in Splunk to monitor our infrastructure. You can use our Check_MK (Nagios) server to gather metrics of the components.

·       Enhancing / maintaining backup solutions
Our current backup solution needs Improvement. You're going to write a migration plan and perform the migration.

·       Maintaining / configuring our Cisco network infrastructure
Our current Cisco network infrastructure is consisting of old and new hardware, with a lot of legacy configuration that needs cleaning. You could also research a way to configure and monitor the system through a Software Defined Network.

·       Enhancing security / configuring Host/Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention System
With our educational network and growing attack surface there is a need for an IDS/IPS system. For this assignment you're going to research the platforms to find one that is fitting for our organization. Install and position new acquired appliances of Ubiquity and potential other appliances (e.g. acquire a second hand F5 BIG IP device). Within this field one Assignment will be made the Main Subject of the internship.
